Today's event was not just a report, but a vivid demonstration of the unity of Fergana's pen masters and the traditions of mentorship. Muhammadjon Obidov's five-year activity and report on financial transparency showed how systematically the association works. The high respect of our veteran mentors for each other served as the greatest moral school for us young "cadres".

The next important event for the creative workers of the Fergana region was the general meeting of the regional branch of the Union of Journalists of Uzbekistan. This event became not only a review of five years of activity but also a live platform for discussing the most pressing issues in the region's media environment.
As a representative of "Fergana Media" attending this meeting, I was first of all comforted to see our venerable mentors gracing the occasion.

The sincerity on their faces and their high mutual respect amaze anyone.

The fact that they, being mentors themselves, address their colleagues as "Ustoz" (Mentor) is a true example of culture and professional dedication.

Watching this scene, I was deeply pleased.

"May we also be blessed to enter such youth and earn such respect tomorrow," I wished.

At the meeting, the report of the mentor, the Chairman of the Union, and Honored Journalist of Uzbekistan, Muhammadjon Obidov, was heard.

It should be noted that the work carried out by the regional branch and the financial reports were analyzed clearly and precisely down to the last penny.

The purposeful expenditure of funds and the strict control of the Union officials in this regard further strengthened the trust of the Fergana pen masters in the Union.

Along with joyful achievements, the report also mentioned painful issues that cast a shadow.

In particular, the state of print media remains the biggest problem today.
While previously over 80 newspapers operated in the region, their number has now dropped to 27.

Newspapers are not published in the city of Kokand and in the Uzbekistan, Furqat, and Uchkopyrik districts.
Veterans constitute 60-70% of the Union members, and there is a noticeable shortage of young кадры in editorial offices.

It was critically noted that not only the indifference of the founders but also the lack of drive and initiative among the journalists themselves contributed to this. New Steps Chairman of the Union of Journalists of Uzbekistan, Shuxratjon Oripov, participated in the meeting and highly praised the activities of Fergana journalists.

During the event, 9 board members and 3 audit committee members were approved, and delegates for the republican conference were elected.

In conclusion, this meeting served as an important roadmap not only for the past but also for the future of Fergana journalism. Where the blessings of mentors and the drive of youth unite, there will undoubtedly be new victories.
